Welcome to Charms Class! I’m Professor Asphodel, and in this class you’ll get to learn about and practice one of the most prevalent, and in my opinion endlessly interesting, areas of magic.
You only need to pass one assignment to pass a year of the class, but you can feel free to do as many as you like. I recommend reading through all the available lessons and choosing to complete the assignments that seem the most interesting to you.

To become OWL ready in the class, you will need at least one first year pass and two second to fourth year passes.

Homework should be written in full sentences with proper grammar and punctuation, but feel free to write in a casual style and have fun with your work. The general word count expectation for 1st-4th year work is 200-300 words, or around 500 words for OWL and NEWT assignments. I’m not too worried about the exact word count, though, as long as you keep things relevant and answer everything fully and thoughtfully.
All your work should be your own, as we do not want any plagiarism going on! You can feel free use the internet for research, but your assignments must be written in your own words.
Homework should be submitted in the Owlery. Remember, if you want an assignment to count for a certain term, it must be submitted by the end of the term. The exception is if you were sorted in week four, in which case you can turn in assignments for term one during interim.
